Gush Etzion (Horn post) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara Netanyahu participated on Thursday in the unveiling ceremony of the new “Promenade” neighborhood in Kibbutz Migdal Oz, located in the Gush Etzion regional bloc.
The new residential development is part of an expansion plan for the community, which local officials say is expected to double within a year. The event was also attended by Yaron Rosenthal, head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council.
During the ceremony, the Prime Minister and his wife took part in a symbolic tree-planting alongside family members of public figures connected to the region, including representatives of bereaved families.
Speaking at the event, Netanyahu described the expansion as a reflection of national resilience and continuity, emphasizing community growth, historical connection to the land, and long-term development. He said the new neighborhood represents both “rooting in the homeland” and securing future generations.
The event highlighted ongoing development in Gush Etzion, a cluster of communities in the southern West Bank, where Israeli settlement expansion has remained a recurring political and diplomatic issue.
