Erigavo (Hornpost) The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Irro), today attended the graduation ceremony of Sanag University’s 11th batch, marking an important milestone in the academic journey of nearly 200 students.
The ceremony brought together university graduates, parents, academic staff, community leaders, government officials and other distinguished guests to celebrate the achievements of the graduating class. Notably, approximately 55% of the graduates were female, highlighting the increasing participation of women in higher education and their growing contribution to the social and professional development of Somaliland.
Addressing the graduates, President Irro congratulated the students on successfully completing their university studies and extended his congratulations to their parents and families, whose support and sacrifices contributed to their educational achievements. He also praised the lecturers, university administration and academic staff for their dedication to providing higher education opportunities to young people in the Sanag region.
The President emphasized that graduation should not be viewed as the end of an educational journey, but rather as the beginning of a new chapter filled with greater responsibilities and opportunities. He encouraged the graduates to apply the knowledge, skills and experience they had acquired at university to address the challenges facing their communities and contribute positively to the development of Somaliland.

“Your graduation is not the end; it is a new beginning filled with responsibility,” the President told the graduates, emphasizing that the future of Somaliland depends significantly on the knowledge, commitment and leadership of its younger generation.
