Chairman of the KAAH Party of Somaliland and his Delegation Visit the European Parliament Headquarters in Brussels.

Brussels, Belgium – October 14, 2025 (Hornpost) The KAAH Party of the Republic of Somaliland wishes to inform the public and the media that its Chairman, Hon. Mahmoud Hashi Abdi, led a high-level delegation on an official visit to the headquarters of the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium. The visit forms part of the party’s ongoing diplomatic engagement efforts to strengthen international understanding and support for the Somaliland cause.

The delegation included senior members of the KAAH leadership, among them Party Leader Mohamed Adan Qabo, and other key officials from the opposition party, which is one of the nationally registered political organizations in the Republic of Somaliland.

In a statement released on the party’s official media page, Chairman Mahmoud Hashi Abdi shared details of the visit:

“Today, our delegation visited the headquarters of the European Parliament in Brussels. The European Parliament, one of the seven main institutions of the European Union, plays a crucial role in representing the people of Europe. During our visit, we met with several members of Parliament.

Beyond the introductions, the core purpose of our meeting was to establish new friendships and partnerships that can play a significant role in advancing the international recognition efforts of the Republic of Somaliland.

As a Somali proverb says, ‘Fadhi iyo fuud yicibeed la isku waa’ — meaning words and actions must go together. Therefore, the KAAH Party firmly believes that, as a nation, we must unite our voices, efforts, and determination to strengthen our unity and achieve the long-awaited recognition of our Republic.

Finally, I extend my sincere appreciation to Ambassador Mahmoud Abdillahi Digale, the former Representative of the Republic of Somaliland to the European Union, for his instrumental role in facilitating these important meetings.”

The visit underscores the KAAH Party’s continued commitment to proactive diplomacy and international engagement aimed at promoting the aspirations of the people of Somaliland and strengthening partnerships with global institutions.
