London (Hornpost) a woman who was fatally stabbed in south London has now been released by police. Although the police did not say the girl’s origin and place of origin, some reports say that she is Somali and were called Maryam Jama.
According to the police, they were informed earlier on Saturday that someone had been stabbed.
The deceased, who was 26 years old, was found dead at the scene, but was not identified at the time but her family was later informed.
Two men, aged 32 and 33, who were arrested on suspicion of murder have been released on bail pending further investigations, police said.
Det Ch Insp Dave Whellams, who is leading the investigation, said: “We understand that this tragic incident has caused real concern in the Croydon community.
“Our priority now is to continue gathering the evidence we need to hold accountable everyone responsible for Marjama’s death, while supporting her family in this difficult time.”
Mitch Carr said: “This is a tragic event in which a young girl lost her life and the pain is shared with her relatives.
He said the current understanding is that Ms Osman was “attacked in the area of Frith Road before it hit the road where she died”.
Detective Insp Whellams encouraged anyone with information to come forward and submit it to investigators.
“We are grateful that the local community is reporting the news about Marjama’s death to us,” he added.
