TAIPEI, Taiwan (Horn Post) — Somaliland’s Ambassador to Taiwan, Mahmoud Adam Jama, held high-level meetings with senior executives of Taiwan’s Export-Import Bank (EximBank Taiwan) in Taipei, focusing on expanding trade, investment, and commercial cooperation between the Republic of Somaliland and Taiwan.
During the visit, Ambassador Jama met with EximBank Taiwan President Fu-Hua Hsieh, Senior Vice President and General Manager Ming Feng Tsai, Senior Vice President and General Manager Andy H.M. Chen, and Vice President and Deputy General Manager Nicole C.C. Chan.
The ambassador was accompanied by First Secretary Dr. Abdiqani Musa Hassan, Second Secretary Ridwan Abdirahman Hassan, and Executive Secretary Allen Shen.
According to Ambassador Jama, the discussions centered on identifying practical opportunities to strengthen trade and commerce between Somaliland and Taiwan, reflecting the two partners’ growing economic cooperation.
“Our discussions focused on practical ways to expand trade and commerce between the Republic of Somaliland and Taiwan (ROC),” Ambassador Jama said in a statement.
He thanked President Fu-Hua Hsieh and the EximBank Taiwan leadership for their warm reception and constructive engagement, expressing optimism about future collaboration.
“I look forward to continuing this engagement and working together to create practical opportunities for the businesses and people of the Republic of Somaliland and Taiwan (ROC),” he added.
The meeting is the latest in a series of diplomatic and economic engagements aimed at deepening Somaliland-Taiwan relations, with both sides seeking to expand cooperation in trade, investment, finance, education, technology, and development.
