MOGADISHU, Somalia (Horn Post) A high-level delegation led by Djibouti National Police Commissioner Col. Abdirahman Ali Kaahin has concluded an official visit to Somalia aimed at enhancing bilateral security cooperation, strengthening institutional ties, and expanding collaboration in counterterrorism and regional law enforcement.
During the visit, the delegation toured several of the Somalian Police Force’s key operational and specialized units, including the Goodir Special Police Unit, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), the Counterterrorism Command, and the Haramcad Police Command. Officials provided detailed briefings on the operational capabilities, specialized training, and ongoing security missions carried out by the Somali Police Force.
The visit offered Djiboutian officials an opportunity to observe Somalia’s evolving policing strategies and exchange professional expertise on modern law enforcement practices, intelligence sharing, and specialized security operations.
High-Level Security Talks
The Djiboutian delegation was formally received at the Somali Police Force Headquarters in Mogadishu by Somalian Police Force Commander Brig. Gen. Asad Osman Abdullahi.
The two police chiefs held high-level discussions focused on expanding cooperation between their institutions, with particular emphasis on:
Strengthening bilateral police cooperation.
Enhancing intelligence and sharing information.
Expanding joint training and capacity-building programs.
Combating terrorism and violent extremism.
Addressing transnational and cross-border crimes.
Promoting regional peace, stability, and public security across the Horn of Africa.
Both sides reaffirmed the importance of close collaboration between Somalia and Djibouti in responding to evolving security threats that affect the wider region.

Officials said the visit reflects the longstanding partnership between Somalia and Djibouti in security affairs and demonstrates both countries’ commitment to building stronger law enforcement institutions capable of addressing shared challenges.
The exchange of operational experience and best practices is expected to enhance the effectiveness of both police forces while supporting broader regional efforts to combat terrorism, organized crime, and cross-border criminal networks.
The visit also underscores the growing security cooperation between the neighboring Horn of Africa nations as they continue working together to improve public safety, strengthen institutional capacity, and contribute to long-term regional stability.
