WASHINGTON (Horn Post) — The United States has conveyed a briefing to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding developments in talks with Iran, according to a statement issued by the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office.
The statement said Prime Minister Netanyahu met in Washington with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, both serving as special envoys appointed by former US President Donald Trump.
During the meeting, the Trump-appointed envoys presented Netanyahu with a report on the first round of negotiations between the United States and Iran. The discussions reportedly focused on the substance and implications of the initial phase of the talks.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office noted that the meeting centered on broader regional developments, with Iran’s nuclear and regional policies forming a key part of the discussions.
Prime Minister Netanyahu has previously stated that Iran-related negotiations would be a central focus of his visit to the United States, reflecting Israel’s long-standing concerns over Tehran’s activities in the Middle East.
According to the statement, Netanyahu is expected to meet with Donald Trump later today, with Iran expected to dominate the agenda of the anticipated talks.
