Hargeisa – (Horn post) The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilaahi (Irro), on Saturday held an Iftar meeting with traditional elders and community leaders from the Awdal Region, according to a statement issued by the Presidency.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Interior and National Security, the Minister of Transport and Road Development, and the Governor of Awdal Region.
Discussions focused on strengthening security, stability, reconciliation, mutual understanding, and peaceful coexistence among communities living in the Awdal and Selel regions.
President Irro commended the traditional leaders for their vital role in maintaining peace, resolving disputes, and reinforcing social unity. He emphasized that peace remains the cornerstone of state-building and social development, noting that safeguarding national cohesion and brotherhood is a shared responsibility across Somaliland.
