
Hargeisa (Horn Post) Somaliland police, in coordination with security forces from Ethiopia’s Somali Regional State, have arrested a suspect accused of carrying out a fatal shooting earlier this week, authorities said.
The suspect, identified as Abdiraq Adan Roble, is accused of killing Mohamed Ahmed Kaahin on March 31, 2026.
According to a statement from the Somaliland Police Force, the arrest followed an extended manhunt and investigation. The suspect was apprehended in Magaalo Xaali village during a planned security operation.
Police said the suspect will be promptly presented before the relevant judicial authorities for prosecution.
The Somaliland Police Command commended all individuals and agencies involved in the operation, highlighting the role of cross-border security cooperation in tracking down the suspect.
Authorities did not immediately provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the killing.
