The program will be jointly implemented by the National Insurance Authority and the World Food Program, as part of broader efforts to protect vulnerable communities from the growing impacts of climate change and natural disasters.
The launch and inception meeting, held in Hargeisa, was chaired by The National Insurance Authority Deputy Chairman Abdirashid Said Mohamed, who is currently serving as acting chairman of the authority.
Senior government officials and development partners attended the event, including The National Insurance Authority Director General Abdisalan Mohamed Mahmoud, Deputy Minister of Livestock and Rural Development Ali Ahmed Abdi, also known as Ali Qantar, and NADFOR Chairman Abdirahman Mohamed Ismail.
Representatives from the ministries of agriculture and environment also participated, alongside a delegation from the World Food Program led by Acting Head of the Hargeisa Office John Mazunda.
