The meeting, held at the regional administrative headquarters in Borama, brought together top security officials, including commanders of police, military, and other security agencies operating in Awdal, alongside coordinators representing various government ministries.
Awdal Governor Abdirashid Hassan Mataan delivered a detailed briefing outlining the region’s overall security situation, administrative performance, and key challenges. He emphasized that effective inter-agency coordination remains essential to addressing emerging threats and ensuring public safety.
The minister also called for sustained vigilance, urging security agencies to enhance intelligence-sharing, improve operational efficiency, and remain proactive in preventing potential security risks. He stressed the importance of maintaining close cooperation between government institutions and local communities to preserve stability in the region.
Officials said the meeting forms part of a broader national strategy aimed at reinforcing decentralized security management, with regional administrations playing a central role in implementing government policies and responding to local dynamics.
