
MOGADISHU, Somalia — (Horn Post) Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud attended the graduation of more than 500 students from NISA’s Institute of Security Studies in Mogadishu.
Somalian President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud attended a graduation ceremony for more than 500 students who completed programs at the Institute of Security Studies, which operates under the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).
The graduates completed studies across three faculties offered by the institute, including students from Somalia’s armed forces and security institutions.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Hassan Sheikh congratulated the graduates and praised their efforts to advance their education and professional skills. He urged them to apply their knowledge to strengthening Somalia’s national security, stability and state institutions.
The president emphasized the importance of developing highly trained security personnel with the knowledge, skills and capabilities needed to strengthen Somalia’s national security institutions.
He also praised efforts to develop the institute, including reforms to its academic curriculum, training programs and educational standards.
NISA Director-General Mahad Mohamed Salad said the graduation marked the beginning of a new responsibility for the graduates.
“Today’s achievement is the beginning of a new responsibility. We are committed to producing scholars capable of studying policies and decisions aimed at protecting national security,” Mahad Salad said.
Military officers were among the graduates of the Higher Institute for Security and National Strategy, highlighting the institute’s role in providing advanced academic and professional training to Somalia’s security sector.
Government officials, NISA leadership, military and security officers, institute lecturers, graduates and other guests attended the ceremony.
The graduation comes as Somalia continues efforts to strengthen the capabilities of its security institutions through professional training, education and institutional reform.
