Al-Alamein, Egypt – Hornpost – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held a high-level meeting today with H.E. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the Al-Alamein Presidential Palace.

The two leaders engaged in comprehensive discussions on strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing strategic cooperation between Somalia and Egypt. President El-Sisi announced Egypt’s decision to reopen its embassy in Mogadishu in the near future, reaffirming the importance Egypt places on its partnership with Somalia.
President Hassan Sheikh expressed appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast support to Somalia, particularly in the areas of security, diplomacy, education, healthcare, and military collaboration. Both sides underscored their commitment to expediting the implementation of the bilateral cooperation agreement signed in August 2024.
President El-Sisi reiterated Egypt’s unwavering support for the Somali people and government, especially in their fight against terrorism. He praised the Somali Federal Government’s efforts to promote unity, peace, and national development.
President Hassan Sheikh reaffirmed Somalia’s dedication to deepening strategic ties with Egypt and thanked the Egyptian leadership for the warm welcome extended to the Somali delegation.
