Hargeisa (hornpost.com/) The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro), today held a high-level national consultative meeting with the Speakers of the two Houses of Parliament — the House of Elders and the House of Representatives — as well as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
According to a press release from the Presidential Palace, the meeting focused on briefing the heads of state institutions on the overall situation of the country and the progress of national affairs, particularly in the areas of security, stability, social development, and foreign policy.
The President provided a comprehensive update on the government’s ongoing initiatives in peacebuilding, national security, social progress, recognition efforts, and diplomatic engagement, all of which he noted are progressing positively.
He also briefed the senior officials on his recent official visits to the United Arab Emirates and Ethiopia, highlighting the objectives and diplomatic achievements of those trips.
The President stated that both visits strengthened Somaliland’s bilateral relations with the two countries and enhanced cooperation in the fields of economy, investment, security, and regional politics.
President Cirro commended the top officials for their vital role in upholding the rule of law, democracy, and the effective functioning of the institutions upon which the Republic of Somaliland is founded.
In turn, the Speakers of the two Houses and the Chief Justice praised the President’s leadership, consultative approach, and commitment to transparency and good governance. They emphasized that such collaboration strengthens inter-institutional trust and fosters unified national decision-making.
In conclusion, President Abdirahman Cirro reaffirmed that Somaliland continues to make steady progress in maintaining peace, political stability, democracy, and good governance — pillars that underpin the nation’s development and unity.
