JERUSALEM — (Horn post) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has highlighted the strategic coordination between Israel and the United States following the killing of Alireza Tangsiri, commander of Iran’s naval forces.
In a video address in Hebrew, Netanyahu said the operation demonstrates Israel’s continued commitment to carry out “strong strikes” against key targets within Iran. He described the killing as “another example of cooperation between us and our ally, the United States, to achieve the objectives of the conflict.”
The Israeli leader reiterated statements made earlier by Defense Minister Israel Katz, noting that Tangsiri played a leading role in efforts to block the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime corridor for global oil shipments.
“His hands are filled with blood,” Netanyahu said, emphasizing that the strike reflects coordinated military action aimed at countering Iran’s regional influence. Analysts note the incident underscores growing Israel-U.S. alignment in intelligence, planning, and execution of operations in the Middle East.
The statement comes amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing security challenges, highlighting both nations’ focus on protecting strategic waterways and countering Iran’s military capabilities.
