BAKU – (Horn post) The diplomatic relationship between Ethiopia and Azerbaijan has grown stronger in recent years, marked by sustained cooperation and strategic engagement. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed began an official working visit to Azerbaijan on Thursday, signaling a new phase in bilateral relations.
Accompanied by First Lady Zinash Tayachew and a delegation of senior officials, Prime Minister Abiy arrived at Heydar Aliyev International Airport this afternoon. The visit underscores Ethiopia’s commitment to deepening political, economic, and cultural ties with Azerbaijan.
Officials indicate that the working visit aims to elevate bilateral cooperation to a higher and more meaningful level, focusing on trade, investment, energy, and regional security initiatives. Analysts suggest that this engagement could pave the way for long-term partnerships, joint infrastructure projects, and strengthen diplomatic coordination in multilateral forums.
“The growing collaboration between Ethiopia and Azerbaijan reflects shared priorities and mutual interests,” said a senior Ethiopian official.
This visit comes at a time when both nations are seeking to expand their international partnerships and enhance regional influence. Observers note that the trip may also include discussions on energy cooperation, technology exchange, and cultural initiatives to further solidify the long-term strategic relationship.
