Hargeisa (hornpost.com/) The chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Abdinasir Ahmed Hirsi, said that the first step they are taking is to stabilize the Somaliland shilling, which has experienced a huge decline in recent years.
The chairman also noted that they are looking for a lasting solution to the rampant inflation that has affected the various sectors of the Somaliland community; he added that they will cooperate with the Ministry of Financial Development and the agencies in charge providing the latest money.
Abdinasir Hirsi speaking at the event took over the administration of the Central Bank of Somaliland said.“We promise that the first work we will do is to stabilize our shillings in recent years, we will look for a solution, with the help of the Ministry of Finance, which is the heart of the nation, the national financial companies that work in the country”
On the other hand, the chairman warned against profiting from the poor, and declared that they will take action against anyone who tries to benefit the poor community and said. “We will take legal action against those who try to use cigarettes in the exchange rate and give money to the poor, and we will continue to do so in accordance with the law.
