HARGEISA, Somaliland (Horn post) The Government of the Republic of Somaliland has extended its congratulations to the State of Israel on its Independence Day, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In the statement, the government said:
“The Government of the Republic of Somaliland extends its sincere congratulations to the State of Israel on the occasion of its Independence Day. We reaffirm our commitment to strengthening cooperation and advancing shared interests.”
Somaliland authorities said the message reflects their commitment to advance bilateral ties and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The statement underscores Somaliland’s broader diplomatic outreach and its efforts to build international partnerships despite its lack of formal recognition.
Israel become first UN member country to recognize officially Somaliland as independent state 26 December 2025 and then the two countries swapped two ambassadors to advance diplomatic relations.
