TEHRAN — (Horn post) Iran has outlined four key conditions for the United States as part of a potential pathway to ending ongoing hostilities, according to reports from the semi-official Tasnim News Agency.
Citing an informed source, Tasnim reported that Tehran has formally responded to a previously proposed 15-point U.S. peace initiative and is now awaiting a reply from U.S. President Donald Trump.
The reported Iranian conditions include:
- An immediate halt to what Tehran described as “aggressive actions and targeted killings” carried out by its adversaries.
- The establishment of concrete guarantees to prevent the recurrence of conflict.
- Clear commitments on compensation and assurances against renewed hostilities.
- A comprehensive ceasefire implemented across all fronts, including regional groups aligned with Iran, signaling a broader de-escalation across the Middle East.
The unnamed official also emphasized that Iran’s authority over the strategic Strait of Hormuz remains a “natural and legitimate sovereign right,” underscoring Tehran’s position on one of the world’s most critical oil transit routes.
There has been no immediate response from Washington regarding Iran’s stated conditions. The development comes amid heightened tensions and continues diplomatic maneuvering between the two sides over the scope and terms of a possible ceasefire agreement.
