Sallahley (Horn post) A high-level delegation from the Government of the Republic of Somaliland, led by the Minister of Trade and Tourism, Abdirahman Hassan Nur, on Thursday attended an official handover ceremony in Sallaxley District.
The ceremony marked the formal transfer of office from the outgoing District Secretary of Sallaxley, Abdinuur Mohamed Arab, to the newly appointed Secretary, Mohamed Hashi Osman, widely known as “Xukun.” The event was held at the conference hall of the Sallaxley District Guest House.
The Minister was accompanied on the working visit by the Deputy Minister of Aviation, Air Transport and Urban Development, Yusuf Keyse Abdillahi; the Chairman of the Somaliland Quality Control Commission, Mohamed Keyse Ahmed; the Director General of the Somaliland National AIDS Commission (SOLNAC); the Director General of the Ministry of Local Government and Urban Development, Ali Cige Mahmoud; along with other senior government officials.
In addition to delivering speeches at the ceremony, the delegation held meetings with Sallaxley district authorities, members of the local council, and representatives of various community groups. During the engagements, officials underscored the importance of accountability, transparency, and strengthening public service delivery at the local government level.
Concluding the visit, the officials urged the newly appointed district administration to serve the public with integrity and commitment, and to prioritize the development and improvement of essential services in Sallaxley District.
