Jerusalem (Horn post) Ethiopia and Israel on Tuesday concluded the fourth round of bilateral political consultations in Jerusalem, reaffirming their commitment to deepen cooperation across a wide range of strategic sectors.
The Ethiopian delegation was led by State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hadera Abera. Discussions focused on bilateral, regional, and multilateral issues of shared interest, including development cooperation, trade and investment, technology and innovation, water conservation, people-to-people relations, as well as training and capacity-building initiatives.
Israeli officials commended Ethiopia’s recent achievements in corridor development in Addis Ababa and other major cities, describing them as a positive indicator of the country’s broader development trajectory.
Both sides underscored Ethiopia’s strategic importance in the Horn of Africa and agreed to expand development cooperation, enhance trade and investment flows, leverage comparative advantages, and maintain regular political dialogue.
The two countries also explored the possibility of convening joint ministerial consultations in the future.
The consultations further emphasized the importance of preserving strong people-to-people ties, including the protection of shared historical heritage.
Ethiopia and Israel maintain long-standing relations rooted in mutual respect and close societal links. Over the years, the partnership has evolved into a broad-based relationship encompassing political dialogue, security cooperation, growing trade and investment, and collaboration in technology and innovation.
