Mogadishu (Hornpost) President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Friday hosted the prominent Somali scholar Sheikh Abdirashid Sheikh Ali Sufi at Villa Somalia in Mogadishu, where the two held wide-ranging discussions on national priorities.
According to the presidency, the meeting focused on the country’s overall situation, including public awareness, the role of religious leaders in promoting peace, supporting social cohesion, and safeguarding Islamic values.
President Mohamud commended the contribution of Somali clerics in guiding the community, countering extremist ideologies and reinforcing national security efforts.
Sheikh Abdirashid thanked the president for the reception and offered prayers for continued stability and progress for the Somali people and their government.
