Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – October 14, 2025 (Hornpost) The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Dr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Cirro), and a high-level delegation accompanying him arrived in Addis Ababa, the capital of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, following an official invitation extended by H.E. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali.
Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, President Cirro and his delegation were warmly received by H.E. Gedion Timotheos, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, and senior officials from the Federal Government.
The reception ceremony accorded to the President was conducted with full state honors, reflecting the strong diplomatic relations and mutual respect between the Republic of Somaliland and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
The President and his delegation were hosted in the VIP lounge at the airport before being escorted to their official residence in Addis Ababa.
During this official visit, President Cirro is expected to hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and other senior Ethiopian government officials on matters of mutual interest, including regional cooperation, economic partnership, and the strengthening of historic ties between the two neighboring nations.
The visit underscores the growing relationship between Somaliland and Ethiopia, rooted in shared security interests, trade, and regional stability.
The delegation accompanying the president on his trip to Ethiopia includes: Commander-in-Chief of the National Army of the Republic of Somaliland, Brigadier General Nim’an Yusuf Osman and the Commander of the National Intelligence Service Jama Mahmoud Egal Mohamed, Members of the Somaliland Cabinet, Chairman of the ruling Wadani Party.
