Hargeisa (Hornpost) The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, today inaugurated the Official Launch of the Somaliland Investment Guide in Hargeisa.
The program outlines the available investment opportunities in the country, the government’s investment policies, and incentives for both domestic and foreign investors.
The launch event was first addressed by the Minister of Investment Promotion and Industrial Development, Hon. Saed Mohamed Burale, who said:
“Today we are presenting the National Investment Guide that will govern investment management.”
The ceremony was also attended by cabinet ministers, business leaders, academics, and numerous distinguished guests.
In his keynote speech, the Vice President highlighted the crucial role investment plays in the nation’s development, stating:
“Investment is the key gateway to the country. Fortunately, today, Somaliland has abundant investment opportunities. I encourage local entrepreneurs to take advantage of these opportunities, as they are citizens of this nation.
As a government, we are ready to welcome anyone who wishes to invest in the country.
Recently, I visited some of the country’s major markets and found almost nothing produced locally being sold there—even most of our fruits and vegetables are imported from neighboring countries.
I call upon the people of Somaliland and our business community to rely on ourselves and utilize the country’s rich resources. This will lead to progress, economic growth, and job creation.
My office is always open to any Somaliland citizen who comes with investment initiatives.”
