
HARGEISA, Somaliland (Horn post) Ministry of Finance and Economic Development of the Republic of Somaliland has conducted a high-level review meeting to assess the progress and implementation of development projects funded by the World Bank.
The meeting, chaired by Finance and Economic Development Minister Abdillahi Hassan Adan, was held at the ministry’s headquarters in Hargeisa and brought together cabinet ministers overseeing World Bank-supported programs, the Mayor of Hargeisa and Somaliland’s representative to the World Bank.
Discussions focused on the implementation status of ongoing projects, their performance and their contribution to economic growth, public services and community development across Somaliland.
Officials from institutions responsible for implementing the projects present detailed reports outlining achievements, ongoing activities and the impact of the initiatives on local communities.
Somaliland’s representative to the World Bank commended both the government and the people of Somaliland for effectively utilizing development assistance. He also praised government institutions for their transparent and efficient management of donor-funded projects.
Participants emphasized the importance of accelerating project implementation to achieve development objectives and maximize benefits for citizens.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to strengthen cooperation between the Government of Somaliland and the World Bank while enhancing efforts to ensure the successful delivery of development projects throughout the country.
