
HARGEISA, Somaliland (Horn Post) — The Somaliland National Army has completed a specialized training program focused on logistics management, operational preparedness, humanitarian assistance, and emergency disaster response, reinforcing its capacity to respond effectively to national emergencies and support regional stability.
The exercise, conducted on the outskirts of Hargeisa, was organized by the Somaliland National Army in partnership with Somaliland’s international military partners.
The training aimed to enhance operational coordination, improve logistics planning, and strengthen the military’s readiness to support humanitarian operations during natural disasters and other emergency situations.
Military officials said the program forms part of ongoing efforts to modernize the Somaliland National Army’s operational capabilities while improving its ability to deploy personnel, equipment, and essential supplies efficiently during crisis response missions.
The training also emphasized the importance of inter-agency coordination and rapid deployment mechanisms, ensuring that military units can work effectively alongside humanitarian organizations and emergency response agencies when disasters occur.
According to the Somaliland National Army, the exercise reflects the force’s continued commitment to national preparedness, public safety, and regional security. It also demonstrates growing professionalism and operational efficiency in carrying out missions that extend beyond traditional defense responsibilities.
Officials noted that strengthening logistics and emergency response capabilities is essential for addressing future humanitarian challenges, including natural disasters, public emergencies, and other situations requiring rapid military support.
