Iran’s Mojtaba Khamenei Vows Revenge for Father’s Death in First Public Message.

Mojtaba Khamenei Issues Revenge Warning After Ayatollah Ali Khameneis Death

TEHRAN — (Horn Post) Mojtaba Khamenei, who is reported to have assumed leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran following the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has issued a written statement vowing that his father’s killing will be avenged.

The message, attributed to Mojtaba Khamenei and released as a tribute to mourners who attended the funeral of the late Iranian leader, pledged retaliation for what it described as the deaths of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and others killed during the recent conflict involving Israel and the United States.

“We pledge to avenge your pure blood and the blood of all the martyrs who fell during the two wars caused by criminal and dishonorable aggressors. This revenge is the will of our nation and will certainly be carried out,” the statement said.

Despite being named as Iran’s new leader following his father’s reported death, Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared publicly. He did not attend the funeral ceremony in person and has yet to deliver a televised or audio address. So far, only written statements bearing his name have been released.

In the latest statement, he also warned that those responsible for his father’s death would face consequences, saying they should not expect to escape accountability.

The statement further claimed that any future retaliation would not depend on a single leader or government official.

“Whether we are here or not, this will be carried out. Independent individuals across the world will each fulfill part of this divine mission,” the message stated.

The remarks are expected to heighten tensions across the Middle East as concerns grow over the possibility of further escalation between Iran, Israel and the United States.

Editor’s Note:

The authenticity of the statement and the claims regarding Mojtaba Khamenei’s leadership should be independently verified. Iranian state authorities have not publicly confirmed all aspects of the claims described above.
