Abu Dhabi, (Horn post) The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defense (MoD) has confirmed the completion of the return of all UAE Armed Forces personnel from the Republic of Yemen, marking the conclusion of their military deployments in the country.
According to the Ministry, the withdrawal follows a previously announced decision to conclude the remaining counter-terrorism missions carried out by UAE forces. The operation was conducted with a focus on the safety of all personnel and coordinated with relevant international and regional partners.
“The Ministry of Defence affirms that the return of our personnel was executed in a planned, secure, and organized manner,” the statement read. “The UAE remains committed to supporting regional security and stability through diplomatic and strategic partnerships.”
The UAE Armed Forces have been active in Yemen for several years, primarily engaging in operations against extremist groups and contributing to efforts aimed at countering terrorism and enhancing security in southern Yemen. Their withdrawal comes amid evolving regional dynamics and signals a shift toward a focus on diplomatic and political solutions in the ongoing conflict.
Officials emphasized that while combat operations have concluded, the UAE continues to support humanitarian and reconstruction initiatives in Yemen, reflecting a commitment to the country’s long-term stability.
