WASHINGTON (Horn Post) — U.S. President Donald Trump said a major agreement involving the United States, Iran and several Middle Eastern nations is nearing completion following high-level diplomatic discussions focused on regional peace and stability.
In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump said he held a series of phone calls from the Oval Office with leaders from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan and Bahrain regarding Iran and what he described as a “Memorandum of Understanding pertaining to peace.”
Trump said the agreement has been “largely negotiated,” with only final details remaining before an official announcement is made.
The U.S. president also confirmed separate talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying discussions with Israel also progressed positively.
According to Trump, one of the key elements of the proposed agreement includes reopening the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route for oil and international trade.
The statement comes amid renewed diplomatic efforts in the Middle East aimed at reducing tensions and expanding regional cooperation involving Iran and key U.S. allies.
