Garowe, Puntland (Horn Post) — Puntland security forces said they carried out a planned security operation in the Laag area on Tuesday, dismantling an armed group that authorities accused of carrying out a series of activities aimed at undermining security and stability in the region.
According to a statement issued by Puntland authorities, the armed group had been involved in security-related incidents and actions that disrupted peace and public order across parts of Puntland in recent weeks.
During the operation, security forces seized military vehicles, a cache of weapons of various types, and detained a number of suspected members of the group.
Authorities said follow-up operations remain underway to locate and apprehend other suspects who fled during the raid, adding that security personnel continue efforts to secure the area and restore stability.
