Doha, (Hornpost) – Ethiopia is taking part in the Eleventh Session of the Conference of the States Parties (COSP11) to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), currently underway in Doha, Qatar, from December 15 to 19, 2025.
The Ethiopian delegation is led by Samuel Urqato, Chief Commissioner of the Federal Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, reflecting Addis Ababa’s continued engagement in international efforts to combat corruption and strengthen governance frameworks.
The high-level conference is hosted by the Government of the State of Qatar, in partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). It has brought together more than 2,500 participants, including government officials, representatives of international organizations, anti-corruption experts, private sector actors, civil society organizations, and youth delegates from across the globe.
COSP11 is recognized as one of the largest global platforms dedicated to addressing corruption and advancing integrity, transparency, and accountability. The forum brings together representatives from the 192 States Parties to the UNCAC to assess progress in implementing the convention, exchange best practices, and enhance international cooperation in the fight against corruption.
During the conference, participating states are expected to engage in discussions on strengthening preventive measures, improving asset recovery mechanisms, and enhancing cross-border cooperation, underscoring the growing international consensus on the need for coordinated action against corruption.
Ethiopia’s participation underscores its commitment to aligning national anti-corruption efforts with international standards and contributing to global dialogue aimed at reinforcing good governance and institutional accountability.
